Zortrax highlights new products at Formnext

admin

Zortrax will be exhibiting its new products at Formnext 20,22 in Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Center/Messe Frankfurt. Hall 11.1 stand C28. The Powerful Trio, a new resin 3D printing system, will be on display, along with high-end photopolymers such as Henkel/Loctite or BASF Forward AM. Previews of a new medical 3D printer as well as materials for metal 3D printing are available.

The Powerful Trio is a complete resin 3D printing system that includes Zortrax Inkspire II UV LCD 3D Printer, Zortrax Cleaning Station (with Zortrax Curing Station), and Zortrax Curing Station. This station can also be used to cure a wide range of engineering resins made by top global companies like BASF Forward AM and Henkel/Loctite.  Zortrax Powerful Trio has been thoroughly tested in a double validation process to guarantee the properties of models 3D printed and post-processed on new Zortrax machines meet or exceed the resin manufacturers’ specification and have been approved by both partners.

“Zortrax and BASF Forward AM joined forces already in the early stages of the machine development, allowing a well-thought-through validation process and excellent fit of resins to the Ink-spire 2 characteristics. The unique composition of the printer’s high intensity UV light engine, easy, automated, and user-friendly Cleaning and Curing Stations are a perfect match with the Ultracur3D resins, resulting in faster curing and post-processing times,” says dr Piotr A. Bazuła, Global Key Account and Business Development at BASF.

The future will see a growing number of BASF Ultracur3D resins, calibrated on Zortrax Inkspire 2, from BASF. Zortrax has worked with BASF to develop FDM materials. Formnext attendees are the first to discover which new materials we will soon offer in each category.

The event will include a demonstration of Tough Resins by Henkel/loctite. Tough resins are able to withstand heavy loads before they break, making them suitable for 3D printing mechanically robust, wear and tear-resistant, load-bearing components.

“Zortrax is an excellent system for anyone needing to produce high-quality parts consistently. Combining the Zortrax resin system and Loctite materials can add value to designers, manufacturers, universities and many more,” underlines Maarten Adolf, Senior Business Development Manager – 3D printing Europe at Henkel AG & Co. KGaA.

For the industrial LPD Plus Plus 3D printer, new materials for Zortrax Endureal are also being highlighted. Zortrax Full Metal Packaging 316L with BASF ULTRAFUSE 316L and Zortrax 17-4PH Package 17-4PH with BASF ULTRAFUSE 17-4PH are two packages that cater to metal 3D printers. Victrex AM 200 FL (PAEK) will also be available on Endureal. This advanced material is designed for demanding applications and has a very high resistance to abrasion heat corrosion, even when in contact with liquids.

Zortrax M300 Dual is another dual-extrusion 3D Printer. It will receive new printing profiles in Z-SUITE for external materials. This will allow for a wider range of filaments, including filaments from Nanovia, Kimya, and 3DxTech.

4D models such as those with electrically activated movement will also be on display. This is a demonstration of the M300 Dual 3D Printer under an European Space Agency contract. 4D printing technology is a way for 3D models to alter their geometry in response to external stimuli. This includes structures that can fold when the temperature drops below a certain level or mechanisms where movement is activated by electricity. This joint project achieved 4D printing using a multimaterial printing feature currently in development for ZSUITE software.

A tool is also available that converts.gcode files into.zcode or.zcodex2 formats. Z-SUITE users can use other slicers programs to convert.gcode files to.zcodex2 formats. These files can then be used to 3D print on any Zortrax LPD Plus and LPD Plus machines.

Formnext 2022 attendees can also learn more about Zortrax’s comprehensive solution for medical customers.
