Vadodara-based carton printer and convertor VS Packaging has bought a Wenhong WH1050SS automatic high–speed die-cutting machine from Zhongke India. The deal was announced at Pamex 2023 in Mumbai.
“We bought the fifth Wenhong WH1050SS high-speed automatic die-cutting machine from Zhongke India. They have been great to work with. This machine is great and the service provided by Zhongke India is excellent,” says Mujahid Sulemani, general manager, VS Packaging.
VS Packaging was founded in 2010. It prints and converts monocartons as well as master cartons for Indian and export markets. A fully loaded UV Heidelberg 6-color UV Heidelberg press is available in the press department. It now includes three die cutters as well as two folder gluers.
Exports should be your focus
VS Packaging is optimistic about the Indian packaging market but is also keen to expand its presence on the export market, in particular in the Middle East.
“We have many customers in Africa and the Middle East, and we plan to expand this business. We export cartons to countries like South Africa, Qatar, UAE and Qatar. We are in talks with customers in Kuwait,” Sulemani says.
Everyday, we chronicle the growth, resilience, and impact of responsible packaging in a large region. Packaging South Asia
Packaging South Asia, a multi-channel B2B publication that also serves as a digital platform, is constantly open to new opportunities and renewal. The 16-year-old monthly is based in New Delhi (India)
It has demonstrated its commitment towards growth and progress. Over the past three-years, the Asian and Indian packaging industries have demonstrated resilience to ongoing challenges.
As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Even when inflation is taken into account, the growth of the packaging industry has been greater than GDP growth over three years.
India’s flexible film manufacturing capacity has increased by 33% in the last three years. We expect an additional 33% increase in capacity from 2023-2025, with orders already in place. Similar growth has been seen in monocartons and corrugation as well as labels and aseptic liquid packaging. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.
Despite the challenges of sustainable packaging and supply chain disruptions, India and Asia have significant growth potential for packaging. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand managers, product designers, raw material suppliers and packaging converters as well as recyclers.
In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform. Tell us about your ideas
