Cherupuzha: An unknown person who frequents people’s homes in the dead of the night and knocks on their doors has been giving sleepless nights to many. The journey that began two weeks back in Rayaroth, Alakode Panchayat, has now ended in Prapoil, Cherupuzha Panchayat.
This miscreant knocks on the doors of houses in the dark. He leaves his crudely smeared oil handprints all over walls and doors, and then causes a commotion by breaking window panes and removing light bulbs.
After causing disturbances in Kunderi, Peruvatta and Rayarom, he is now in Prapoil.
He went to many homes in the Eyyankallu region. If any door opens to answer his knocks, he flees. This has happened in the homes of Sati Kannamkaran and P.J Rajan Thachethu in Eyyankallu.
On Saturday morning, he came to Machiyanikkel Krishnankutty’s house on Prapoyil- Kakkot road near the Juma masjid and forced open the windows of the house. Also, he removed the exterior bulbs. He also knocked at the doors of Vahanikkal Muhammed Sharif and Ottaplackal Sharbin, as well as R.K Pradeepan.
The troublemaker knocked at the back of Sharif’s house because he has CCTV. It is therefore suggested that the person may be someone who knows the area. He arrived there at 3 in the afternoon.
As soon as locals notified the Cherupuzha Police, they arrived on the scene and searched the area along with other residents. They were unable to find anyone.
A few days ago, when the trouble-maker reached Ambattukuzhi Raju’s residence in Rayarom at around 8:30 PM, Raju and his son chased the man for a long distance but failed to catch him. The area is rife with fictitious tales about the stranger. Police have intensified their investigations in an effort to capture this miscreant terrorizing locals.
