MacroArt specializes in large format printing, and helped to bring Venezuelan Artist Arturo Herrara’s vibrant mural Untitled, 2020 to London.

Untitled,2020, by Herrera, contrasts with the steel and glasses of London. The piece is located in Creechurch Lane and Aldgate.

MacroArt’s Group Account Director, Mike Hamling, said: “We’re delighted with how this latest mural has been received.

“The accuracy of the installation and the richness in colours were crucial to the success of the artwork.

Untitled, 2020 blends sumptuous colors using UV inks of the highest quality. All samples were carefully sampled at MacroArt’s studio on site to find the right shades.

MacroArt teamed up with Mtec Fine Art at the invitation of the City of London Corporation and Lacuna to install the mural as part of the 12th Edition of London’s Sculpture in the City project.

MacroArt’s team used its Durst-512R printer to print the 9m by 21m mural on self-adhesive Vinyl. The artwork was designed with extraordinary colours that will remain for the entire nine-month period it is displayed.

MacroArt’s installation was one of their biggest challenges.

Four installers spent two days installing the 190m2 wall, using a cherry-picker attached to the rear of a truck. This ensured that the artwork was placed accurately.

Mr Hamling continued: “Our team has worked very hard to make this a reality, and we are extremely proud of the results.”

“We are thrilled to bring vibrant artworks into the heart London, as part of the newest launch of the long-running Sculpture in the City.”

Sculpture in City is presented by the City of London Corporation in conjunction with LACUNA. This leading cultural studio in partnership local businesses transforms England’s Capital into an expansive sculpture gallery each summer.
