Roland DGA’s V-BOND Ink Now Compatible with VersaOBJECT™ CO Series and VersaUV® LEC2 S-Series UV Printers

Irvine, Calif. – Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of large-format inkjet printers, printer/cutters, vinyl cutters, and other advance imaging devices, has announced that its specially formulated V-BOND Ink can now be used with VersaOBJECT™ CO Series and VersaUV® LEC2 S-Series UV printers. Previously V-BOND Ink was only available for use with Roland DGA’s VersaUV LEF and LEF2 benchtop UV printers.

V-BOND Inks are gaining popularity as a safer option to UV inks. These inks are durable and cost-effective, image well, adhere to a variety of substrates and are scratch-resistant. These inks offer a wide color spectrum, with magenta density resulting in vibrant reds. They add an extra vibrancy to prints. V-BOND Inks also meet California Proposition 65, Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act, (CPSIA), and are nickel-free, phthalate-free and compliant with air-shipping. They’re also less aggressive to the rubber and plastic parts of the printer’s capping station, significantly improving the health and longevity of the printheads, thereby reducing maintenance requirements.

Customers who purchase new CO Series and LEC2 S Series ultraviolet printers can enable their devices to use V-BOND Ink by following a few easy steps. These include downloading the latest firmware version (version 1.50, or higher) and updating VersaWorks software output to version 6.18, or higher. The cost to upgrade the printers of existing LEC2 S-Series users to V-BOND Ink is determined by their Roland DGA authorized dealer.

“Having the ability to use V-BOND Ink further enhances the versatility of our CO Series and LEC2 S-Series flatbeds, opening up new and lucrative creative opportunities for users,” said Jay Roberts, Roland DGA UV Printer Product Manager. “Along with the safety and compliancy benefits, these wide-gamut, cost-effective inks offer additional advantages over other UV inks – like superior surface adhesion and scratch resistance, faster tactile build, and better long-term outdoor durability, just to name a few.”
