BASF Forward AM, Photocentric and a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer have worked closely together to optimize the Design for Additive Manufacturing process and print very large parts. They worked together to eliminate issues like warping and allowed for the flexibility to switch between Injection Moulding & Additive Manufacturing based on the product’s stage in the life cycle.

Photocentric parts available on demand will feature a custom door panel produced in the LC Titan. This specialist part showcases the intricacies of lattice design, incredible textured surface finish and the triumph of tool-free iterative processes for a massive build volume of 27.6 x 15.6 x 47.2”. LC Titan currently runs production parts and will be ready for purchase in Q4 2023.

Booth #1715 will feature the Photocentric Workhorse LC Magna as well as opensource LC Opus 3D Printers. Both printers have been tested in multiple applications, including dental, medical, and engineering print exhibits. A wide range of UV and daylight-durable, flexible, and rigid resins will be available to complement the printers.

Photocentric licensed a patent on a prepackaging photopolymer in 2002 to allow stamp making with small flexographic plates. In 2015, Photocentric received a patent that allowed 3D printing with daylight-polymers and LCD screens. Photocentric now runs production parts as needed and maintains control over the entire ecosystem.
