Islamabad [Pakistan], May 12 (ANI): The police crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders continues as Dr Shireen Mazari, the party’s Senior Vice President, was arrested by Islamabad Police from his residence in the federal capital during the wee hours on Friday, reported The News International.
In a raid conducted Friday morning, she was taken into custody at her home in the federal capital.
Her arrest follows a number of other arrests, including Imran Khan and Asad Umar, Fawad Chhudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi Ali Mohammad Khan and Senator Ejaz Chandhry.
Asad Umar has been arrested at the Islamabad High Court. The News International reported Fawad Chandhry being taken into custody at the Supreme Court, while Shah Mehmood Qureshi had been arrested in the Gilgit Baltistan House, Islamabad.
Geo News reported all of these leaders had been arrested under the section three of Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO).

Meanwhile, in a major legal victory for PTI, Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case has been declared “illegal” by the Supreme Court on May 11, and authorities have been instructed to release him “immediately”.
The PTI Chief was sent to the Police Lines Guest House to spend the night there with his family.
Imran Khan was also ordered by the court to appear before the Islamabad High Court tomorrow (tomorrow), the same court who previously declared Imran’s arrest legal.
The court has established a precedent by which no one can be arrested in the court’s premises. (ANI)
