Windows 11 2022 Update

Microsoft acknowledged the issue with certain printer drivers around two months ago and Windows 11 2022 update. Microsoft has now resolved the problem and removed the safeguards.

This safeguard held that users of Microsoft IPP Class Drivers or Universal Print Class Driver printers were prevented from upgrading to Windows 11 22H2. Microsoft has now released Windows 11 to more users after removing the barrier.

The company provided previously details on a workaround, which consisted of uninstalling the infected printer before installing Windows 11. However, the official fix means that less people will encounter an upgrade obstacle when installing Windows 11 2022.

Microsoft has updated the original post in Windows Health’s Known issues section to state that the safeguard hold was lifted. Although the company claims that the safeguard hold was lifted on November 10, the issue was not resolved until the last few days.

Microsoft claims:

Any printer that is still affected should be upgraded to Windows 11 version 22H2.

According to the company, if there is no safeguard in place, people who are still unable or unwilling to upgrade should restart their computer and check for updates again.
