Jet Technologies and Screen bring new printing solutions to AU

Jet Technologies, in partnership Screen, a supplier and manufacturer of products for the printing industry has announced it will bring three new solutions to Australia.

Being launched at Labelexpo Europe 2023, the innovations include the Screen and Nilpeter joint hybrid printing solution, a new prototype in-line inkjet digital primer for Screen’s flagship Truepress LABEL 350UV SAI label printing press, and the Screen Truepress PAC 520P inkjet digital printing press.

David Reece, Sales Director at Jet Technologies, says, “These latest printing industry advancements from Screen are a direct result of the company’s commitment to listening closely to requests from major clients, who have loved their L350UV SAI and have long wanted to be able to use them for additional markets.”

“Jet Technologies has a number of customers who are onto their second investment in the L350UV SAI and I have no doubt that our clients will be eager to take advantage of these new developments.”

The Screen and Nilpeter Joint Hybrid Printer brings to market an innovative inline solution which will meet the rising demand for integrated digital print and embellishment.

It allows virtually any combination flexo/screen, cold foil/hotfoil/die cutting, etc. The L350UV has proven to have a high level of reliability, printing all types of work with 60m/min (50m/min when using opaque white) regardless of the print repeat, colours, or other factors.

Reece says, “The L350UV SAI really lends itself to running inline as a hybrid press, where all of the processes can be easily and quickly synchronised to enable inkjet to truly enter print runs that until now have been the sole domain of flexo. We’re incredibly excited to see this major enhancement of the much-loved L350UV SAI.”

In addition to the L350UV SAI, a prototype for an in-line digital primer is being developed. The primer will help solve a problem that UV inkjet digital printers face: ink adhesion problems on some substrates. According to the company, with the new primer the L350UV SAI is able prime directly below the printed image instead of over the material.

Reece says, “This new option for priming will bring many benefits, one of the biggest being able to reduce inkjet bleed on uncoated paper, which is a big win for printers servicing segments such as wine and spirits, who can now seriously consider the L350UV SAI.”

Screen also launches the Truepress PAC 520P digital inkjet printing press. This water-based, inkjet press is aimed specifically at the paper packaging industry.

The Pac 520P can print with the highest quality and speed at 75m/min on a variety of paper substrates up to 520mm wide. The Pac830F offers an even wider printing surface, based on the same water-based technology, and also running at 75m/min. This press is used for shrink film and flexible packaging.

Reece continues, “With the consumer-driven shift in packaging trends from plastic to paper, there is a rapidly-growing market opportunity and it is pleasing to see that Screen is eager to pioneer in this space.”

“The introduction of Pac 520P and Pac 830F show how committed Screen is to the packaging sector and they are also showing the benefit of decades of experience in inkjet. As their long-term partner in the Australia and New Zealand region, we have been privy to these developments for some time and to see them come to fruition is exciting for us and our clients.”

Labelexpo Europe in Brussels will host the official launch of Screen’s advancements from 11-14th Sept. Jet Technologies and Screen will be taking private appointments to view these new presses in advance.
