Rolling Meadows, IL, March 13, 2023—Komori America—Komori America announces that House of Printing, a Maryland-based commercial printer serving the mid-Atlantic region, has just invested in their future through the purchase of an eight-color, 37-inch Komori Lithrone perfecting press (GL837P Advance), equipped with Komori’s LED-UV curing system. This new press will replace the 40-inch Komori press that the company relied on for 22 year. House of Printing selected the GL837P Advance You will enjoy the latest technology in automation, superior print quality, and a much faster job cycle.

According to Tony Willis, vice president of operations for House of Printing, “The expectations of clients when it comes to turnaround times keeps getting faster, so we are excited about the technology advancements we will gain with this press. With the GL837P AdvanceWe can print both sides simultaneously and the LED-UV technology makes curing fast. These were two major selling points. Gaining speed to market is one of the biggest factors in our decision to purchase this press.”

Willis says that intuitive technology in the press was another key factor in the decision for the GL837P upgrade Advance. House of Printing’s press crew ranges from 30 to 40 years of age and is excited to get familiar with the Advanced automation and explore the new capabilities. Equipped with Komori’s KHS-AI self-learning software and the PDC-SX Spectral Print Density Control, the Lithrone G37P advance It is easy to use and maintain high-quality printing. The GL37P can register and color jobs in a few sheets. It can also change jobs quickly and finish in one pass. Jobs will cycle through manufacturing in half the time than the old method. Compact footprint of the GL37P Advance fits conveniently into a smaller area of House of Printing’s existing building, while still allowing them to print the larger sheet sizes suited to the commercial print market.

“We are also looking forward to the substrate flexibility of this press,” said Willis. “The press prints on 40-pound paper all the way up to 18-point board, which opens the ability for us to take on certain print jobs that we had to pass on before. It was difficult to get anything less than 50 pounds through older presses. As a company, we discussed investing in this press and we concluded that if we want to stay in business for the next 20 or 30 years, we’re going to have to get this press. We are looking forward to reaping the benefits of the GL837P. Advance will bring to House of Printing and its customers.”
