THE NEED FOR THIS EVERY DAY. YEAH, ABSOLUTELY. GOODWILL ALREADY HELPED SO MANY PEOPLE WITH JOB APPLICATIONS AND TRYING TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE WITH THIS NEW GRANT. GOODWILL SAYS THAT THEY’LL BE ABLE TO EXPAND THEIR PROGRAM EVEN MORE TO HELP MORE OKLAHOMANS. GOODWILL IS MORE THAN A STORE. WE HAVE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES THAT WE OFFER TO OKLAHOMANS FOR FREE. YOU MIGHT NOT THINK IT, BUT GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA HAS BEEN HELPING THOUSANDS OF OKLAHOMANS LEARN DIGITAL SKILL SETS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE WORKPLACE, AT SCHOOL AND IN EVERYDAY LIFE. ON ANY GIVEN DAY, I CAN WALK BY HERE AND SEE THIS ROOM FILLED WITH OKLAHOMANS WHO ARE IN NEED OF DIGITAL LITERACY TRAINING. THEY’RE IN NEED OF HOW TO CREATE A RESUME, HOW TO CREATE A COVER LETTER, HOW TO APPLY FOR A JOB. SO THE NEED IS THERE. AND NOW, THANKS TO A NEW $10,000 GRANT FROM THE KILPATRICK FAMILY FOUNDATION, GOODWILL IS HOPING TO EXPAND ON THEIR PROGRAMS WITH A NEW DIGITAL LITERACY LAB. MANY OKLAHOMA FANS HAVE LITTLE TO NO SKILLS WHEN IT COMES TO TECHNOLOGY SPECIFIC USING COMPUTERS. MELISSA RICHIE WITH GOODWILL, SAYS THE NEW LAB WILL HAVE 25 LAPTOPS, SAY PRINTER AND CLASSES ON HOW TO USE THE COMPUTERS. THERE WILL EVEN BE A LAB INSTRUCTOR WHO WILL WALK PEOPLE ALONG AS THEY LEARN TO USE THE TECHNOLOGY. NOT HAVING THESE BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS CREATES A BARRIER FOR PEOPLE TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE. Goodwill Industries of Central Oklahoma said a new grant will help them create a new digital literacy lab where they can do just that.

They already help people with job applications and entering the workforce, but now, the grant will be able to expand the program and help even more Oklahomans.”Goodwill is more than a store.
