Part of the Live Suite™ package of exclusive software offerings from Desktop Metal, Live Monitor provides easy access to system data from any web browser at any time. The new offering includes dashboards that can be used to manage a fleet, or drill down into printer or furnace performance for capacity planning, maintenance, and other purposes. The real-time data includes information on job and event progress, time reporting, consumable use, and other metrics.

“At Desktop Metal, we’re committed to driving additive manufacturing into production, and Live Monitor is a vital tool for managing a single productive printing system, such as a Shop System and Furnace, or an entire fleet,” said Ric Fulop, Founder and CEO of Desktop Metal. “Our goal is to help users improve their Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to optimize their utilization and scale their business with ease.”

Aidro of Italy, a leader in the production of hydraulic and fluid-power systems using metal AM, traditional manufacturing techniques, and other technologies, has been testing Live Monitor on its Desktop Metal Shop System for the last year.

“Live Monitor is an essential tool for keeping the most important process variables under control and giving customers with critical parts, such as those in the energy industry, visibility and traceability of AM part production,” said Valeria Tirelli, President and CEO of Aidro, a subsidiary of Desktop Metal. Aidro is exhibiting in the Manufacturing and Industrialization Hall, Booth M1, at ADIPEC – a global event for the energy industry. The event will take place in Abu Dhabi from today until October 5. “The variables are visible, customizable, and recordable and this is the basis for having a qualified process. Aidro AM has also been certified by DNV according to the DNV ST-B203 standard. Compared to other systems, Live Monitor can be customized in a simple and efficient way depending on the specific needs of the user.”

Users of Desktop Metal-branded furnaces and Studio, Shop, or Production System printers will have the option to add Live Monitor as an optional feature in Live Suite. This feature will be available in the future for users of Team DM and Desktop Metal equipment sold under ExOne, Desktop Health and ETEC.
