Axtra3D enables speed and precision with patented Hybrid PhotoSynthesis & TruLayer Technology

The company is working to enhance the efficiency of 3D printers. Axtra3D TruLayer technology is an innovative feature.

Two years ago, the company launched its Hybrid PhotoSynthesis Technology, which combines digital light processing and stereolithography into one coaxial system. Both light sources work in sync to deliver unmatched surface quality and accuracy, as well as a 50 micron resolution on the build platform.

Its patented TruLayer Technology underpins that unique process to eradicate superfluous inter-layer delays by incorporating a trio of sensors onto the glass plate beneath the printer’s membrane. Printing speed is increased by two times compared to other printers, while the precision of the Hybrid PhotoSynthesis is not compromised.

This innovative technology allows the detachment of active print layers from the vat membrane. It removes restrictions on cross-sectional sizes and bulk. It can also print with resins that are highly viscous.

“We’re able to eliminate the standard wait times and only wait as long as we need to wait because we actually have live feedback from those sensors,” said Axtra3D CRO Paul Spoliansky. “When we turn that technology on, we started seeing that we’re about double the speed of competing technologies on the market.”

Axtra3D’s Lumia X1 is the first 3D printer to offer Hybrid PhotoSynthesis and TruLayer Technology, with the two technologies working together to offer unmatched accuracy, speed, surface quality and printability. Lumia X1 has been designed for a long-lasting working life of 10+ years. The Lumia X1 also meets industrial standards while offering a high level safety, thanks to its ventilation, magnetic lock system, UV shielded window, and emergency button.

Intelli Cartridge is another benefit of the Lumia X1 Machine. Intelli cartridge actively manages the amount of resin used by the printer. It does this by dispensing materials into the vat, and then collecting any extra material. This system allows for a maximum of eight litres of resin to be used in printing, reducing waste and mess. Intelli-cartridges are designed with a feature which automatically mixes resin to ensure consistent levels of material for each layer. Infrared heaters also control the temperature of the materials. The Intelli-cartridge is a very useful tool for large printing jobs or production runs.

Hybrid PhotoSynthesis and TruLayer Technology combined with the Intelli-cartridge offers an entirely new level of possibilities for 3D industrial printing. This solution is ideal for short- to medium-run production and promises speed, accuracy, and good surface quality.
