LAS VEGAS, NV — Of some 3,200 exhibitors at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, several hundred are companies in the digital health space.

Companies around the globe are constantly developing new technology, gadgets, apps, and devices to help people live longer and stay healthier as the population ages.

CES hosted a media conference called “Unveiled”, where companies actually unveiled their products.

On that show floor, there were dozens of tech health devices and applications — not only for our health, but the health of our pets.

Invoxia

The Invoxia smart dog collar is filled with sensors and chips to track a dog’s GPS location, how much they sleep during the day, their activity, and more.

One such device is the Invoxia smart collar. Not much thicker than the dog collar you may use now, it is filled with sensors and chips to track a dog’s GPS location, how much they sleep during the day, their activity, and more.

MadelineTersigni stated, “It also monitors their resting heart rate and respiratory rate throughout the day.”

All data can be viewed on any smartphone, from anywhere.

“When you see discrepancies on the app, such as a change in the heartbeat or heart rate during the day, you’ll be able to see there may be a problem,” she explained.

pillow

The Motion Pillow is for snorers — and the people who sleep next to them. It’s expected to be on sale in the US later this year.

The Motion Pillow is for snorers — and the people who sleep next to them. It acts as a pillow, and a bedside gadget that can listen to the sleeping person.

“Once it hears your snoring, it locates where you are on the pillow and begins to move you gently,” Brent Chappell from Motion Pillow.

There are no electronic components in the pillow. The memory foam pillow has no electronics inside.

“Your airway opens again. Chappell said, “You stop snoring and the pillow deactivates so you can continue to sleep.”

The Motion Pillow will likely be on sale in the US sometime later in the year.

gummies

Neutrogena and Nourished partnered to create customized skincare gummy vitamins using a 3D printer.

Neutrogena and Nourished teamed up to create customized skincare gummy vitamins using a 3D printer.

To assess the customer’s skin type, Neutrogena provides a digital scan of their face. After this information has been gathered, the 3D printer at the company begins to create personalized gummy vitamins.

Desiree Dowe of Neutrogena stated that “they have seven different layers” of ingredients, which are scientifically backed. She also explained that “they are freshly made and delivered right to your door.”

Nuralogix

Nuralogix offers 30+ health and vitality measurements that are based on facial blood flow patterns.

One of the most impressive exhibits at Unveiled is from Nuralogix — A company with an app that turns selfies into “healthies.”

Lindsay Brennan explained how technology works.

“We measure 30+ vitals and health measures using only your facial blood flow patterns. We measure blood pressure, heart rate, your risk for type 2 diabetes, HBA1C — all purely from a contactless healthy video,” she said.

As your body’s physiological state changes, the blood flow in your face changes as well, Brennan explained.  “So we’ve got the camera can pick up on these changes.”

The demonstration was spectacular.

It took only 30 seconds to complete the facial scan.

My heart rate was 86 beats per hour when the Nuralogix camera scan my face. The Apple Watch’s Heartbeat Sensor app also showed 86 beats per Minute.

It accurately calculated the age of a male user who had tried the device. After scanning my face, it determined that my heart rate was 86 beats/minute.

The Apple Watch’s heartbeat app also showed 86 beats/minute when I checked it.

Nuralogix apps are not available to consumers.

It is an a Business to Business Company licenses its technology to other companies who deal directly with consumers and patients.
