KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will likely call former education minister Datuk Mohd Radzi Jidin to testify in its investigation of a multi-million ringgit project for book printing.

Tan Sri Azam Baki is the chief commissioner of MACC. He said that Putrajaya MP will be called up at some point.

“There’s a good chance (he’ll be called up), but not right now.

He said, when contacted by Sunday (Sept. 24,) “We’re still investigating the matter”.

In a previous report, it was reported that MACC had arrested a former minister’s political secretary and another person as part of their investigation.

Sources claim that the two were arrested on Friday night (Sept. 22) after their statements had been taken at the MACC headquarters, Putrajaya.

Both suspects are being held until the 26th of September.

The source stated that the first suspected, who was in his early 20s, worked as a secretary for a senior minister.

The second is an owner in his fifties of a small company who was believed to have worked directly with the minister concerned to secure the project.

Datuk seri Ahmad Khusairi, the deputy chief commissioner for operations at MACC confirmed that the arrest had taken place when contacted.

He said that the case was being investigated in accordance with Section 16(a).(A) MACC Act 2009.

Radzi has denied involvement in the project.

He said that the allegations linking him and his wife to the J-Qaf books for preschool are false in a Saturday (Sept. 23, 2009) Facebook video.
