SOS, GMG Color and Vivid are teaming up for an Open House Event to be held on 6th and 7th September at Vivid’s showroom in Ashby De La Zouch, Leicestershire.

“THE 3 CARD TRICK” event will produce a range of wide format print on some of the latest Roland TrueVIS print/cut machines supplied by SOS, driven by GMG’s colour control and workflow software. Samples will then be cut, folded and laminated on Vivid’s VeloBlade range of equipment, enabling visitors to take away a finished product, including a souvenir boxed deck of laminate playing cards.

SOS Director Ashley Fleming: “The inkjet large format print market is projected to grow significantly over the course of the next few years, and we want our customers to be best positioned to take advantage of this growth. We’re pleased to work with GMG Color, Vivid and other friends to showcase a large format workflow with the latest Roland machines. It’s a great opportunity for any printer to investigate the latest wide format technology and future-proof their business, whether they are experienced or thinking of taking this market on for the first time.”

SOS will showcase a variety of Roland machines that have just been launched. The Roland TrueVIS LG-540 UV-LED integrated print/cut machine offers the ultimate in UV versatility along with Roland’s renowned quality. Roland TrueVIS AP-540, a new 54-inch printer using environmentally friendly resin-based inks. TrueVIS VG3-540, an eco-solvent all-purpose printer, completes the lineup.

With this comprehensive lineup, a vast range of products can be created, including packaging mockups as well as backlit prints, banners, posters and even wallpaper. Customers can request demonstrations during registration and even produce their work at the event by prior arrangement.

The event will showcase GMG Color’s software solutions for colour management and proofing, which enable accurate and reproducible proofs on packaging production substrates, incorporating white ink – particularly useful for printing on transparent and metallic materials. With accurate calibration and profiling users can create media profiles that are specific to any media. GMG ColorProof creates a consistent CMYK simulation and multicolour press simulation using GMG OpenColor.

The event will be showcasing the wide range of cutting-edge print finishing equipment at Vivid’s showroom covering the latest in automated packaging technology and software solutions ranging from lamination, digital foiling, packaging software, digital die-cutting and patented taper systems.

The opening hours are 10am-5.30pm on 6th September and 10am-5pm on 7th September.
