Dutch adtech service provider De Resolutie / Van Zijderveld now prints rigid media at yet higher quantity and quality using a swissQprint Nyala flatbed printer – the 1000th unit of this model to be delivered and installed by its Swiss manufacturer.
De Resolutie / Van Zijderveld is a total adtech provider based in Rijswijk close to The Hague. Everything from one source. The company chose the Nyala 4 to improve print quality and production. swissQprint delivered and installed it in mid-June 2023, marking this model’s 1000th field deployment.
Quality and reliability are important factors to consider when making a decision.
Jeffrey Vermaat, one of the company’s four owners, explains: “Our delivery deadlines are tight as well as binding, so reliability is paramount.” Various brands were evaluated to replace the previous UV printing system. “We could have bought on the cheap side, but we consciously opted for quality,” he says, referring not only to the high print quality but also to the swissQprint machine’s robust and well thought-out design. Low power consumption (2.20 kWh on average) and criteria relating to environmentally friendly production were also persuasive factors.
Reduced overtime
Jeffrey Vermaat feels relieved that his production team is no longer working overtime to meet deadlines. As a matter of principle, these are sacred and all production takes place in-house. “Nyala delivers the perfect quality/productivity balance and brings us a significant capacity boost.” Maximum output is 206m²/h, the highest print resolution 1350 dpi.
More Flexibility
Whereas printing rigid media used to be a sideline, De Resolutie / Van Zijderveld now aims to actively promote the service based off their Nyala’s great flexibility in terms of the applications it can handle. The most common substrates include rigid foam board and aluminium composite panels. Wood, acrylic glass, and wood are also popular. The choice of media is expanded with Nyala. Any format is accommodated on its 3.2×2 metre flatbed, aided by the swissQprint registration pins. A CMYK-ink configuration, supplemented by light colours and the white colour, delivers a range of print characteristics that include fine art and specialty applications. Jeffrey Vermaats loves to say: “The answer’s yes – now what was the question again?” And he believes those words will be crossing his lips even more often in future.
Healthy growth is assured
He concluded by saying that the company had been aware of swissQprint for some time, but that it had underestimated the value that these printers provide. They were also using machines from other manufacturers. “The differences compared to swissQprint are enormous. What they showed us back at the demo was stunning and now we are seeing the same in our own production.” He is confident of the company’s healthy, organic growth with assistance from Nyala.
