LuxCreo launches LuxAlign®: First FDA-class II, 510(k) cleared, direct print clear aligner end-to-end workflow, with integrated product and service solution for same-day aligners

admin

At AAO, iLux Pro Dental 3D printers, iLuxCure Pro, UV curing boxes, DCA, LuxAlign design software and LuxScale – a service for offsite aligner production were unveiled.

LuxCreo is a 3D printing specialist for clear dental appliances. Today, the company announced an FDA Class II (510(k), cleared solution that allows orthodontists, and dentists, to produce clear aligners in one day, without having to go through traditional models and thermoforming. This method allows orthodontists to produce aligners in just 2 hours after an oral scan, with significant labor and capex savings over in-house thermoforming.

We are proud to introduce the integrated suites of digital fabrication tools of direct aligners after 5 years of working with orthodontists. said LuxCreo CEO Mike Yang. LuxCreo direct printed aligners can offer a higher level of accuracy than thermoformed alternatives, which could result in a more comfortable fit for patients. Furthermore, our multi-thickness patent technology allows customized teeth movements tailored for each patient’s individual treatment needs.”

Fortune Business Insights projected that by January 2023, the clear aligner market would explode from $4.1 Billion in 2022 to $16.1 Billion in 2029. Despite this growth, LuxCreo estimates that 5-10% of aligner treatments are canceled by patients due to lengthy initial aligner lead times—up to 6 weeks. LuxAlign’s platform is designed to address these issues. Patients can try on their initial aligners within 2 hours of intraoral scanning in the dentist’s office.

LuxCreo launches a series of products across software, hardware, materials and services that will allow for a seamless workflow.

  • iLux Pro Dental: A high throughput, small footprint, heated, chairside DLP printer with 50-micron pixel resolution powered by LEAP™ technology. In an 8-hour period, a single iLux Pro Dental can print up to 175 horizontal models or 64 direct aligners.

  • LuxAlign® design software: Automatically generate aligner retentioner designs, adding trimlines, repairing tooth gaps, and varying aligner thickness to enhance aligner efficacy.

  • iLuxCure Pro: This high-irradiance, multiwavelength, multidirection post-print cure is programmable and can cure six to eight aligners in 30 minutes.

  • Direct Clear Aligner (DCA) Material: DCA is a tough, flexible, and accurate clear aligner material with high transparency without manual polishing, enabled by LuxCreo’s Digital Polishing™ technology. DCA is FDA Class II (510(k)-cleared for aligner use.

  • LuxScale: Dentists can modify or order the rest of their aligner treatment plans from a LuxCreo intelligent factory after patients have approved and received their initial aligners.

The iLux Pro Dental design software and LuxAlign has revolutionized my practice. I no longer need to print out models, thermoform and cut aligners. LuxAlign is saving my practice up to 75% on labor costs, compared with the traditional workflow. It has also reduced my patients’ waiting times. Dr. Mike Pham is the CEO of Affordable Dental.

Orders for the iLux Pro Dental 3-D printer and iLuxCure Pro can be placed now and shipping will start next month.

LuxCreo also has a partnership with Orthodent Laboratory, a leading dental laboratory. They are actively seeking participants for their clinical validation of the multi-thickness technology. Visit the LuxCreo Booth #695 in Chicago, April 21-24. Or visit www.luxcreo.com for more information.
