2 jailed in Florence County after printing counterfeit money from motel room, deputies say

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Florence County deputies have arrested two people suspected of printing counterfeit US currency, according to a news release.

According to the press release, deputies responded to a call on West Lucas Street regarding a counterfeit US dollar operation. Deputies, after gathering more information about the suspect’s location on West Lucas Street, discovered that he was staying at Baymont Inns and Suites.

Deputies knocked on the suspect’s motel room door, where they saw printing material and equipment “in plain view,” according to the release.

The investigation continues.
